I drew this when I was O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D with the idea of doing a 2-day climb to Mt. Pulag, the highest peak in Luzon (somewhere up north, around 13 hours from Manila). That was 2 weeks ago. I still have plans to climb Pulag next year but at the moment my obsession has shifted over to Machu Picchu in Cuzco, Peru!
I’m fickle-minded like dut.

Hot summer day outside of a Coffee Bean as evidenced by the sunglasses on everyone. Even I was wearing sunnies while drawing these— good coverup to the fact that I was drawing THEM ^__^

I recently watched a very interesting and eye-opening BBC documentary about a bus driver from London who was transported to Manila, Philippines to drive a jeepney. He lived with a family whose house was put together using scrap materials and because there wasn’t any space to expand sideways due to the city being so congested, they built going up instead, adding more floors as they see fit. I see these houses during my infrequent commutes to the heart of Manila but I never really noticed them, you know?
Also, I used to wonder why some of these houses had seemingly random car tires on top of their roofs— I figured it’s so their roofs don’t fly off during a typhoon.
(If you have an hour to spare, that BBC documentary is here: Toughest Place to Be a Bus Driver)
